Lewistown, ME – Central Maine Medical Center recently recognized 29 junior volunteers who are now certified to volunteer at the hospital.Junior volunteers provide support to staff and patients by transporting patients, delivering patient belongings, running errands on the nursing units, putting packets together for various departments, and working on special projects. Each summer junior volunteers provide the hospital with over 6,000 hours of service. Many junior volunteers put their service at CMMC towards school requirements for community service. To apply to become a junior volunteer, students must contact CMMC Volunteer Services between March 1 and May 15 to request an application packet. Students must be at least 13 years old by June 20 to participate.
