Exercise for Arthritis at Mulberry Gardens
Mulberry Gardens invites you to attend a six week course entitled, “Exercise for Arthritis”; a course focusing on safe and active movement for improving range of motion and strength for people with arthritis and other chronic conditions. The course runs for six weeks on Tuesdays beginning September 14th at 3:30pm and ending October 19th. Participants do not need to have arthritis to take part in this course. The cost is $20. FREE program on Men’s Prostate Health; free PSA screenings
WESTERLY, RI, - A free community education program on Men’s Prostate Health, including free PSA screenings, will be held Thursday, September 2, from 6-7:30 p.m. at The Westerly Hospital, in recognition of National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
Leading Experts in Brain Injury to Provide Support, Advice and Practical Information at Caregiver Conference
Who: Sponsored by the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts, a private nonprofit association that provides support, prevention, education, and advocacy for individuals with brain injury and their families.
What: Caregiver Conference for family members and caregivers of brain injury survivors. Medical professionals are welcome.

September 10: Quick Blood Sugar Screening 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. Free, on-the-spot blood sugar (glucose) finger-prick test gives results in minutes to screen for diabetes. September 17: Healing Drum Circle 10 – 11 a.m. The drum circle will focus on healing through sound and rhythm. No experience necessary; drums and other percussion instruments will be provided. September 19: Non-Denominational Healing Service 6 – 7 p.m. A service focusing on spiritual healing provided by the Oratory of the Little Way. Interfaith Chapel. All are welcome. Meets third Sunday of the month.
September 20: Pre-Diabetes Awareness Class 10 – 11:30 a.m. With diabetes educator Dianne Cooke, RN, CDE. Nearly 41 million people have pre-diabetes (higher than normal blood sugar), and most don’t know it. However, pre-diabetes can be treated before it becomes Type II diabetes. This one-session class is for those who have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes. Lifestyle changes that can prevent Type II diabetes from developing will be discussed.
